LIFE WITHOUT PURPOSE CAN TRAP YOU INTO UNPRODUCTIVE BEHAVIORS
Life is all about choosing to follow your true calling, but in some cases the journey can be overwhelming. A life without purpose can be lived, but it will never be to its full potential. Following your passion means taking responsibility for your course in life. Either way, that course will be directed. You’ll be the one living with your intention, your calling, and your passion or our culture will impose it upon you. We’ve been given free will to make that choice.
When you are not living with intention and purpose there are several traps you can fall into. Maybe you will recognize some of these in your own life? If so, it is a strong clue that you are out of sync with your true calling.
Here are some of the most typical traps individuals make when not following their passion and how to avoid them.
Life Without Purpose Traps
The Perfection Trap
When you are pursuing your purpose, you want to attempt to make all-encompassing plans and goals. While having goals and a mission for your purpose is important, you don’t have to find the one perfect plan. Rather, just visualize where you want to go. Look out to where you want to be in five years, and then set SMART goals to get you there.
Requiring Continuous Progress Trap
As you begin on your journey to following your calling, look at the options that you presently have offered. Take note of which opportunity holds the most interest for you, then do that.
Don’t attempt to force things. If you feel overwhelmed, take a break from your plan. Step and relax, and when you start to feel better, ideas to breakthrough whatever challenges your face will start to emerge.
Worrying Forward Trap
Worrying about the future will make what you are stressing about happen. The anxiety of fixating on what’s ahead will stop you in your tracks and you’ll never ever end up following your purpose.
While it is difficult, try to avoid overthinking the “what ifs”. If you look at your past you’ll find most of the things you’ve worried about never happened. Instead, ask yourself more productive questions. Think about what can go “right” rather than what can go wrong.
Fear Is An Enemy Trap
You will have to let go of your worries so you can skyrocket even higher when you follow your heart and go after your dreams. Don’t let fear stop you . Use fear as an indication that you’re on the right course. If you desire to follow your calling you have to feel your fear completely.
Don’t believe these traps are just the consequences of living. They are only consequence if you are living life without purpose. These traps can be avoided. Everyone has a unique and God-given purpose.
Begin looking inside for answers and stop looking for the consent from others to do what you were meant to do. You have to stop making excuses for why you can’t act and simply take the next action, and the one after that, until you end up where you want to be.
