Do you believe you can have both and at what cost?

I have been thinking about the difference between a victorious life and a successful life. Our culture tells us we have to be "successful" or at least die trying! I find the definition in terms of money, power, fame, etc...to be very shallow. Don't get me wrong, there is nothing bad about success itself, even in these terms. I hope to achieve a greater measure of it every year.

A victorious life, however, has much more to do with substance and significance. You can have a "successful" life, as perceived by our culture, but still be defeated. Victory implies an achievement that overcomes great challenge and is not necessarily measured in terms of wealth, power, or fame.
